1. Name of the Committee: Shri Mamleshwar Temple Management Committee

2. Jurisdiction: Shri Mamleshwar Temple premises and adjoining land, including development of public facilities, arrangements for devotees, maintenance of law and order, and collection of donations.

3. Office of the Committee: Revenue Tehsil Office, Mandhata, Punasa.

4. Objective of the Committee: The primary objective of the committee is to prevent encroachments in the temple, maintain law and order, ensure systematic development of the temple premises, and improve facilities for devotees.

5. Number of Members: The committee shall consist of the following members:

  1. Commissioner, Indore Division & Ex-Officio Trustee, Khasgi Trust Nominee – Member
  2. Collector, Khandwa – Chairman
  3. Member of Parliament, Khandwa – Member
  4. Member of Legislative Assembly, Mandhata Constituency – Member
  5. Chairman, Municipal Council, Omkareshwar – Member
  6. Representative nominated by Khasgi Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Charities Trust – Member
  7. Superintendent of Police, Khandwa – Member
  8. Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Indore Division & Ex-Officio Trustee, Khasgi Trust – Member
  9. Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue), Punasa – Member Secretary
  10. District Treasury Officer, Khandwa – Treasurer
  11. Tehsildar / Naib Tehsildar, Tehsil Office, Mandhata – Member
  12. Sub-Divisional Officer, Public Works Department, Punasa – Member
  13. Chief Municipal Officer, Municipal Council, Omkareshwar – Member
  14. Executive Engineer, M.P. Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Co. Ltd., Punasa – Member

6. Duties and Operational Guidelines of the Committee:

  1. Currently, priests are appointed by the Trust on a salary basis for morning, midday, and evening rituals. This practice shall continue, and duties may be allocated as required. Future priest appointments shall be made by Khasgi Trust in consultation with the committee.
  2. The temple management committee shall install two donation boxes—one inside the sanctum sanctorum and another in the temple hall. These boxes shall be opened monthly on a fixed date in the presence of a government member nominated by the Collector, with prior intimation to all members.
  3. A joint bank account shall be maintained by the committee, where all donation funds shall be deposited.
  4. Details of the committee’s bank account, passbook, and monthly bank statements shall be shared with Khasgi Trust and all committee members.
  5. The committee’s primary responsibility shall be the development of public facilities and temple premises.
  6. The committee shall coordinate with the Archaeology Department for temple premises development.
  7. The committee shall take necessary steps to safeguard temple property.
  8. On special occasions such as one Monday of Shravan month, Mata Ahilyabai’s birth anniversary, Mahashivratri, etc., the Holkar royal family shall retain the traditional right to perform rituals with priority.
  9. Existing worship, rituals, and religious ceremonies shall continue as per tradition.
  10. An information board displaying the temple’s name, trust details, and management committee shall be installed at the main entrance of Shri Mamleshwar Temple.
  11. The committee shall endeavor to install a statue of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar within the temple premises and establish a museum dedicated to her.
  12. The committee shall organize appropriate religious events during festivals and special occasions in the temple premises.
  13. The temple’s traditional customs shall be strictly followed.
  14. All conservation, renovation, construction, and developmental works within the temple premises shall be executed and supervised by the committee.
  15. Suitable arrangements shall be made for devotees’ darshan, worship, abhishek, aarti, etc., based on suggestions from committee members.
  16. The committee shall coordinate with the management of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India and implement suitable action plans.
  17. Efforts shall be made to establish/operate Sanskrit/Vedic schools, colleges, or universities.

7. Committee Meetings:

  • Meetings shall be held at least once a month.
  • Emergency meetings may be convened with a five-day notice.
  • Quorum shall be 50% of the total members.

8. Bank Account:

  • A bank account shall be operated in the name of "Shri Mamleshwar Temple Management Committee, Omkareshwar" for temple management.
  • Donations from temple donation boxes and other sources shall be deposited in this account.
  • The account shall be jointly operated by the Commissioner, Indore Division (Ex-Officio Trustee, Khasgi Trust Nominee) and the Collector, Khandwa (or their nominated representative).

9. Accounts and Audit: The committee shall maintain proper account books, bills, vouchers, etc., as per rules. Regular audits shall be conducted as per regulations.
