Shri Mamleshwar Mahadev Mandir

Mamleshwar, also known as Amleshwar Mahadev, is a revered Shiva temple located on the southern bank of the Narmada River in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. It is considered one of the twin Jyotirlingas, the other being the Omkareshwar Temple on the northern island. Mamleshwar holds immense spiritual significance. The temple showcases classic Nagara-style architecture, intricate stone carvings, and a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Having darshan at both temples is considered mandatory for devotees visiting Omkareshwar.

Omkareshwar Dam

The idea for the Omkareshwar Dam project first arose in 1965, with the goal of providing electricity and irrigation. This concrete dam is 949 meters long and 33 meters high. The dam began operation in 2007. Its reservoir has created beautiful islands. Many tourism projects are being developed around it like Sailani Island and Hanuvantia Resort, which are worth visiting.

Omkar Parvat Parikrama

In Omkareshwar, devotees perform the parikrama (circumambulation) of Shri Omkareshwar and Mandhata Parvat, carrying Narmada water with the intention of fulfilling their wishes. The parikrama path is approximately 7 kilometers long, and along the way, there are several temples and archaeological monuments that are of significant religious importance for devotees.
